Labour painting its win in Wakefield as a sign that Keir Starmer is not only getting through to voters, but convincing conservative voters to vote Labour

… unfortunately for Labour’s spin doctors, that’s not born out by the facts

...Labour received nearly 5,000 FEWER votes last night, than it did in 2019 when it lost the seat to the Tories.

Last night Labour received its lowest vote in the Wakefield constituency since 1931!

LESS people are voting for Labour today than did in 2019.

Labour need to start gaining votes instead of relying on hatred of the Tory party to win seats by default.

That won’t win a general election when Tory voters are more likely to turn out for their party.

Labour needs to give people something to turn out and vote FOR.

Starmer's vote share 2022 less than Corbyn's in 2017

Sir John Curtice, university professor, election guru informs

..."Labour vote in Wakefield is still not as high as what Jeremy Corbyn achieved in 2017 in the constituency."...

..."Ed Miliband (former Labour leader) managed to get eight points or more increase ten times between 2010 and 2015 and it did not get him into 10 Downing Street."...

..."he also emphasied that many 2019 Tory voters in the “Red Wall” seat of Wakefield had not backed Labour in the by-election."...

Tiverton and Honiton

Labour giving away votes to Lib Dems

3) The collapse in the Labour vote in Tiverton and Honiton was disastrous.

Labour received 1,562 votes against 15,670 in 2017.

That's 9 out of 10 former voters.

We shouldn't be at all happy that Labour party is giving any kind of support to the Lib Dems who are just another bunch of Tory Lites.

Labour Voters
Switched to Lib Dems

Sir John Curtice, university professor and election guru

..." highlighted how many Labour voters switched to the Liberal Democrats in the Tiverton and Honiton by-election"...
